From local neighborhoods to statewide initiatives, this year’s honorees are inspiring leaders who prove that progress is possible when young and working age voices step up to lead.

Crow Bonnema
Advocate, student, and artist
Crow Bonnema (he/they) is a biochemistry student at Clark University, an avid maker, and an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. They sew clothes and plushies, read queer and leftist literature, and regularly testify at the State House on bills affecting LGBTQ+ youth. Crow believes in building community and speaking out, even when minds don’t change, so that harmful ideas never go unchallenged. -

Rosie Emrich
Community leader, advocate, therapist, and mom
Rosie Emrich is a mom of three and mental health therapist whose parenting journey raising a trans child has fueled her advocacy for policies that help all New Hampshire families thrive. She and her family have shared their story publicly at the State House, in op-eds, and at rallies. She started a local trans youth family meetup to offer support and connection. At the heart of her work is the belief that every child deserves to be valued, celebrated, and empowered for who they are. -

Heidi Carrington Heath
Executive Director
New Hampshire Outright
Heidi Carrington Heath is the Executive Director of New Hampshire Outright, the state’s oldest LGBTQ+ organization creating safe, joyful spaces for queer and trans youth and their families. An ordained minister, trained chaplain, and longtime community builder, Heidi has dedicated her career to helping people feel seen and connected. She previously led the NH Council of Churches and is known for her work fostering dialogue across differences. She lives on the Seacoast with her family. -

Grace Kindeke
Director of Projects
NH Center for Justice and Equity
Grace Kindeke is an artist, immigrant rights activist, and racial justice advocate whose work is rooted in Black feminist, Afro-futurist, and liberation practice. She is the Director of Projects with the New Hampshire Center for Justice & Equity and previously worked with American Friends Service Committee NH and the Manchester Community Action Coalition. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in New Hampshire, Grace is a graduate of UMass Boston. She loves to dance, read, and spend time with her family. -

State Rep. Ali Murray
State Representative, Hillsborough District 20
State Rep. Alissandra Murray is a queer, non-binary, first-generation community organizer representing Manchester’s Ward 9. They are the founder and deputy director of the Reproductive Freedom Fund of NH, which provides abortion and gender-affirming care to Granite Staters. In the Legislature, Rep. Murray has championed affordable housing policies, fought for reproductive freedom, and worked with partners like the ACLU, GLAAD, and 603 Equality to stop anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. -

Carrie Neill
Vice Chair, Barrington School Board
Carrie Neill got her start volunteering on the PTA and now serves as a National PTA Member-At-Large. She has now served on the Barrington School Board for 2 full terms (and counting!), and she also sits on the board of the New Hampshire School Board Association. Carrie has a long record of volunteering with local organizations, and in 2019 received the New Hampshire Volunteerism Award for Non-Profits for her tireless work advocating for education legislation and policy reform. -

State Rep. David Paige
State Representative
Carroll, District 1
State Rep. David Paige is serving his second term representing Conway in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, where he focuses on childcare, housing, and academic freedom. He is the ranking member of the House Committee on Housing and Chair of the Carroll County Democrats. A longtime leader in education and academic publishing, Rep. Paige has worked with educators nationwide to develop curriculum and previously led national anti-censorship campaigns as a division president of the American Library Association. -

MomsRising
MacKenzie “Kenz” Nicholson is the Senior Director of MomsRising NH, where she works with moms and caregivers to make New Hampshire a better place for families. A lifelong Granite Stater, she began her advocacy journey after struggling to access paid leave as a new mom, sharing her story in both the State House and Congress. Kenz holds degrees in Family Studies and Public Policy from UNH, and when she’s not organizing, she’s reading, staying active, or enjoying a beach day.
Nancy Glynn is a U.S. Navy Veteran, community organizer, and storyteller from North Sutton. A “serial volunteer,” she serves as a Selectwoman, local school board member, and chair of the Sutton Free Library Board–and the first woman in more than 20 years to hold town office. As Senior Campaign Director with MomsRising, Nancy has mentored hundreds of Granite Staters in grassroots leadership and values-based organizing. Known as a “Ninja Warrior Mom,” Nancy believes communities thrive when people are empowered to lead. -

The NH Mutual Aid Relief Fund

The New Hampshire Mutual Aid Relief Fund (NHMARF) is a grassroots collective of five free stores across the state, creating high-trust spaces to share resources and meet community needs. Run by working-class people, NHMARF believes that direct action and solidarity are the best ways to meet material and social needs of our community. -

50501 NH
NH based grassroots movement
50501 NH began when strangers on Reddit organized a rally at the State House on February 5th, drawing hundreds to speak out for marginalized communities. From that day grew a statewide movement committed to turning protest into sustained action. With thirteen rallies behind them, 50501 now connects people to local organizations, helping Granite Staters channel their energy into issue areas and campaigns. Together, they show that when we raise our voices together, we cannot be ignored.
